The XC in Hemel Hempstead has expanded its leisure offering with the launch of Absolutely Escapes, the town’s only escape room experience.

The first adventure, Sherlock vs Moriarty, is designed for 2–6 players and will transport them back to Victorian London to assist Sherlock Holmes. With the great detective and Dr Watson away on urgent business, a series of recent bomb discoveries points to dark mastermind Professor Moriarty.

The previous evening, Moriarty is believed to have broken into 221B Baker Street, leaving behind a taunting note and a trail of cryptic clues. Detectives have just 60 minutes to uncover the location of the next device and deactivate it before it’s too late.

Players can expect a classic escape room experience filled with puzzles, hidden clues and clever twists, all overseen by a dedicated game master.
