Child Friendly Restaurants Hemel Hempstead Numbers 1 – 5
Liberty Tea Rooms & Community Hub
Praised for its coffee, comfort and community feel; Liberty Tea Rooms and Community Hub is certainly one to try! Top of the list on Trip Advisor wth 5 stars!
The food is home cooked and it is run by volunteers who give up their time for this tea room.
The donated furniture makes for a quirky atmosphere. There is a good range of snacks and cakes available and too many teas to mention, as well as the normal range of coffees. The practice of paying what you feel in an envelope means you can donate as much, or as little as you can afford, without feeling guilty if you are short of cash. Very novel!
Sunnyside Up Cafe and Farm Shop
Also 5 Star rated on Trap Advisor and called a
‘hidden gem’! Vegetarian and Vegan-friendly too!
Delicious fresh food, friendly professional staff in a comfy quirky space. The added value is a small garden center and a shop selling free range and organic food.
There are always things for the children to play with – a great train set for example. The food is freshly made, original and tasty. The staff are really pleasant and you can buy flowers, plants and local produce in their shop.
Windmill Cafe
Known for its large portion sizes and service with a smile!
A traditional English cafe – perfect for a large weekend breakfast or brunch! Or fabulous for a tasty, deliciously fresh sandwich (and or slice of cake of course!)
It is said to serve excellent food with lots of choices, large, but quality portions. Also good value for money and very friendly, accommodating staff. What more do you need?
Cappuccio
Known for its fabulous, authentically Italian coffee, wine and food.
Lovely independent cafe in the centre of Hemel Hempstead offering a wide selection of daily made paninis, focaccia, cakes and Italian specialties like Tiramisu, Sfogliatelle and cannoli Siciliani.
As with all in the top 5 cafes the staff are friendly and welcoming.
Fishery Wharf Café
You’ll want to get to this place early, especially on a weekend, as it can get very busy. However, there is a reason for this popularity – the friendly staff and great food!
Brunch comes highly recommended and is very child-friendly. The service is excellent with plenty of staff for the number of tables, all very relaxed and friendly.
The cafe has the advantage of a lovely location on the canal and a good menu with coffee and cakes or ice cream as well as such delights as pizzas, toasted sandwiches, wedges, eggs and avocado on toast.
