Emergency services were called to the scene of a house fire in Hemel Hempstead, yesterday evening (Thursday April 15)
Police and fire crews were at the property on Belswains Lane after the fire broke out just after 4pm.
Herts Police assisted firefighters who were dealing with the fire at the property in Hemel.
The occupants of the house managed to escape, uninjured, Dacorum Police confirmed in a Tweet yesterday.
The police and fire service asked people to avoid the area while emergency services tackled the blaze. Traffic was slowed around Belswains Lane according to the AA.
Belswains Lane was closed due to the fire, from Lawn Lane to Great Elms Rd. Herts Highways confirmed.

Statement from the Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service:
A Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4:24pm yesterday (April 15) to a house fire in Belswains Lane, Hemel Hempstead.
“Five fire engines (two from Hemel Hemsptead and one each from Berkhamsted, Kings Langley and Watford) were sent to the scene, where crews found the first floor of a semi-detached house well alight.
“Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire by 16.54 were involved in damping down the scene and ventilating the property. The incident ended at 6.30pm.”
