A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital following a crash which shut the A414 and slip roads on to the M1 in Hemel Hempstead.
Police were called at around 6.20am this morning (Monday, April 5) to reports of a collision on the A414 Breakspear Way.
The incident involved one motorcycle which had careered off the carriageway and collided with roadside furniture.
Members of staff from the ambulance service were also called to the scene, and transported one person to hospital for treatment.
The stretch of road was shut by emergency services for around two hours. A diversion route was put in place which took drivers back onto the M1 at junction nine for both the northbound and southbound carriageways.

A spokesperson for Herts Police has now revealed more information about the incident.
They said: “Police were called at around 6.20am this morning (Monday 5 April) to reports of a collision on the A414 Breakspear Way.
“One vehicle was involved, a motorcycle. It was reported that the vehicle collided with roadside furniture.
“Ambulance service were also called to the scene, and one person was taken to hospital for treatment.
“One lane was closed to allow emergency services access and for vehicle recovery. It was re-opened shortly after 8.30am.”
