Large film crew spotted setting up in Hemel Hempstead park

A film crew was spotted at a large park in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire this afternoon (July 7)

Part of the car park at Gadebridge Park, on Leighton Buzzard Road, has been filled with catering vans as well as filming props and camera equipment vehicles.

The 32-hectare park has a closed funfair on one side, and a play area and skating slope taking up the rest of the site.

However, no cameramen or women, directors, cast or extras were seen to be in action.

One woman in the area said she was unable to say what was being filmed.

It looks like they could be staying overnight

There were also other caravan-type vans on the site, suggesting it could well be an overnight set.

The park was busy with families and children playing in the sun when the crew was spotted at around midday, with the car park nearly full up.

Previously, Gadebridge Park has been used to film series three of Ricky Gervais’ After Life, and Hemel Hempstead has also played host to a number of big-name productions.

The funfair appeared to be real this time

Gadebridge Park is a popular filming location because of its proximity to London as well as the countryside charm offering a big green open space.

It is not yet known what time the film crew got there and if they will be leaving tonight.

Dacorum Borough Council confirmed in a report earlier this year that filming is set to increase in the area which will hopefully increase the district’s presence.

The council is also hoping to encourage more filming projects in Dacorum to support the local economy.
