Hertfordshire dealership pays tribute to ‘superstar’ salesman who sold 5,000 cars prior to death

A Hertfordshire car dealership has launched an award in memory of one of its most treasured salespeople who lost his life to cancer last year.

Danny Delucia worked as a sales executive at Crown Honda Bushey Heath for nearly 20 years prior to his death in October 2020 at the age of 51.

He was considered as one of the brand’s most successful salespeople, selling 5,000 cars in total as a result of his high level of customer service.

To remember and honour Danny, his friends and colleagues at his former dealership have created The Danny Delucia Memorial Award.

The award is presented to a fellow staff member at Crown Honda Bushey every six months when they do something exceptional within the business.

Danny’s team shared how he was “exceptional” whilst working for the brand over two decades, and created the award to celebrate his incredible work ethic.

The first winner of The Danny Delucia Memorial Award was announced on Thursday, October 7 which marked the first anniversary of Danny’s passing.

The winner was Sharon Boreham, showroom receptionist, for never being late or off sick in 13 years, her amazing customer service skills and her hard work throughout the difficult Covid-19 period.

Sharon was thrilled to be the first recipient of the award, saying: “Danny was a superstar and legend so to be the first winner of this award is something I will always cherish.

“We all miss him every day, but this award helps in keeping his memory and legacy alive.”

Danny’s wife, Carmen, and his two children attended the presentation, alongside the staff members and managing director of the branch, Tim Dibbs, who said: “We wanted to do something to help us honour and celebrate our great friend and exceptional colleague, Danny, who is missed dearly by all of us at Crown Honda.

“Huge congratulations go to Sharon – it will be a truly special moment each time the award is presented and we look forward to announcing all the future deserving winners in Danny’s remembrance.”
