Exact time heavy snow is set to hit your Hertfordshire town today

Wintry weather is set to continue across Hertfordshire today, as the county prepares for days of sub-zero temperatures.

Much of the county has woken up to a covering of snow, which will keep falling throughout the day thanks to Storm Darcy.

The whole of Hertfordshire is currently under a yellow weather warning for snow until midnight on Wednesday, February 10.

The Met Office is warning of frequent snow showers throughout the first half of the week, and have asked people to prepare for some disruption.

However, some areas are likely to be hit worse than others with the forecast varying massively across the county.

Some towns will be facing almost 24 hours of snow showers, while others will just be seeing a sprinkling on Monday morning.

Even those that dodge the worst of the snow, will see temperatures drop dramatically.

It’s unlikely anywhere in Hertfordshire will record temperatures above freezing, and with a windchill that could mean it feels like -9C even during the warmest parts of the day.

We have rounded up the latest forecasts from BBC Weather for the biggest towns in our county, whether you’re planning a day of sledging or wrapping up on the sofa.
