Exact time each Herts town can expect to be hit with snow

A yellow weather warning is in place for Hertfordshire again today (February 9) as the county braces for more wintry weather.

Heavy snow fell across the county over the weekend and on Monday, February 8, as Storm Darcy caused disruption across the UK.

The severe weather also brought a freezing chill to the county, with many towns seeing temperatures staying below zero throughout the day.

The wintry weather is expected to last until Wednesday, February 10, with more snow forecast to fall later on.

There is less snow expected, with light showers throughout the afternoon, however, according to the latest BBC Weather forecast, the freezing temperatures will be here to stay.

It could feel as low as -6C in some parts of the county.

Berkhamsted

It will be cloudy this morning before light snow showers return this afternoon at around 1pm.

These may turn heavy around 4pm for a brief time, before easing up until 6pm.

Temperatures will reach highs of -1C, but feeling like -6C.

Broxbourne

Broxbourne will avoid any snow showers according to the latest forecast.

However, they haven’t avoided the wintry weather yet and heavy snow is expected to return tomorrow (February 10).

Temperatures will reach highs of 0C, feeling like -5C.

Hatfield

Light snow is expected for a short window between 1pm and 4pm this afternoon.

According to the latest forecast, there are a few heavy showers expected tomorrow.

Temperatures will reach highs of -0C, feeling like -6C.

Light snow showers are expected between 1pm and 5pm this afternoon, briefly turning heavy at 7pm.

The area could see the most snowfall tomorrow, with snow expected between 6am and 8am, then 12pm and 5pm.

Temperatures today will reach a high of -0C, feeling like -6C.

Hemel Hempstead

Light snow showers are expected throughout the afternoon from 1pm until 7pm – turning heavy at that time before easing.

Temperatures will reach a high of 0C, feeling like -6C.

Hertford

Light snow showers are expected for a window this afternoon, between 1pm and 4pm.

Temperatures will reach a high of -0C, feeling like -6C.

St Albans

There will only be a small window of snow this afternoon in St Albans, with light showers forecast between 1pm and 4pm.

Temperatures will reach highs of 0C, feeling like -6C.

Stevenage

There will be snow showers throughout the afternoon but should stay quite light between 1pm and 4pm.

Temperatures will reach highs of 0C, feeling like -6C.

Watford

Light snow showers are forecast to start at 1pm and carry on well into the evening.

The showers are forecast to turn heavier at 7pm, before drying up for the rest of the night.

Temperatures will reach a high of 0C, feeling like -5C.

Welwyn Garden City

Welwyn Garden City is expected to almost completely miss any snow today – with brief showers at 8am this morning.

Temperatures will reach a high of -1C, feeling like -6C.
