77 Herts neighbourhoods where Covid has been ‘suppressed’

Coronavirus has now been ‘suppressed’ in 77 Hertfordshire neighbourhoods – meaning the virus is almost non-existent there.

Data provided by the Government’s interactive Covid-19 map shows where new cases are being reported across the county every week.

The areas in white show ‘suppressed’ neighbourhoods – known as MSOAs (Middle layer Super Output Areas) – where there are now fewer than three cases.

The map offers a more detailed overview of how coronavirus is affecting communities across the county, listing infection rates and cases for the last seven days.

At the start of February there were over 2,000 active cases in Hertfordshire and statistics show that as of March 5 – just over a month later – cases have dropped by nearly 75 per cent to 527.

Every borough made the list, with St Albans and East Hertfordshire showing the highest number of suppressed areas in the county.
